Welcome to the Nava Utkarsh Hackathon Portal ("we", "our", or "us"), organized in collaboration with Leo Club. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data of all participants, mentors, judges, and visitors.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you register, participate in the hackathon, and use our portal.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information that you directly provide when creating an account, forming a team, or submitting your project:

• Personal Identifiers: Full name, email address, phone number, college/institution name, year of study, and city.
• Authentication Data: User IDs and authentication tokens provided through our authentication partner (Supabase Auth / Google OAuth). We never store raw passwords.
• Hackathon Submissions: Team name, team member details, presentation slides (PPT URLs), GitHub repositories, live demo URLs, and project descriptions.
• Technical & Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device information, and interaction logs with the portal for security and audit purposes.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Your information is collected strictly for hackathon-related operations, including:

• Processing registrations, verifying eligibility, and managing team invitations.
• Facilitating mentor guidance, project evaluations, and judging rounds.
• Publishing announcements, round shortlists, results, and issuing certificates and prizes.
• Communicating critical updates, schedules, and alerts regarding the event via email or SMS/WhatsApp.
• Maintaining system security, audit logs, and preventing fraud or duplicate submissions.

4. DATA SHARING & DISCLOSURE

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third-party marketing companies. We only share information under the following circumstances:

• Organizers, Mentors & Evaluators: Authorized panel judges review submissions, resumes, and code repositories to evaluate projects.
• Sponsors & Hiring Partners: If you explicitly opt-in during registration, your resume and profile may be shared with hackathon sponsors for internship or recruitment opportunities.
• Public Leaderboard: Team names, problem track, and public rankings/results are displayed on the public results leaderboard.
• Infrastructure Service Providers: Supabase (Database & Authentication) and Cloudflare/Netlify (Hosting & Content Delivery).

5. DATA SECURITY & STORAGE

We employ strict technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information:

• All database operations are governed by PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) policies.
• All web traffic is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption.
• Administrative endpoints are strictly protected by role checks and authentication guards.

6. YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES

You have the right to review, update, or request the deletion of your account and submitted data prior to the start of the final evaluation rounds. You can manage your profile details directly from the Account Dashboard or by contacting our team.
